News: Call for Authors on Phytoremediation- Due by February

I am an environmental scientist who does tech transfer and application assessment consulting on biotechnology plants and phytoremediation.   I have been asked by Dr. Chittaranjan Kole to serve as an editor for a Springer-Nature series on Advanced Concepts and Strategies in Plant Science. The volume I was asked to edit is on phytoremediation. It was a great experience writing for him in the past and you can see a sample of a related plant sciences book at https://books.google.com/books?isbn=3642048129There are no fees to submit for publishing; this is a good opportunity to promote your research, publish your work presented at a conference, or put a part of your dissertation work in print.  Your work will be peer reviewed.  The proposed topics in the phytoremediation book are:

    • Basic Principles of Phytoremediation
    • History of Phytoremediation
    • Phytoremediation using Crop plants
    • Phytoremediation using Trees
    • Phytoremediation using Native Plants
    • Phytoremediation using Aquatic Plants
    • Phytoremediation using Algae
    • Phytoremediation of Metals
    • Phytoremediation of Organic Pollutants
    • Phytoremediation of Wastewater
    • Phytoremediation of Agricultural Pollutants
    • Phytoremediation of Radioactive Wastes
    • Phytoremediation of Munitions
    • Exploiting the Rhizosphere for Phytoremediation Enhancement
    • Growing Role of Biotechnology in Phytoremediation

I am soliciting authors for the following chapters:

    • Basic Principles of Phytoremediation
    • History of Phytoremediation
    • Phytoremediation using Crop plants
    • Phytoremediation using Native Plants
    • Phytoremediation using Aquatic Plants
    • Phytoremediation using Algae
    • Phytoremediation of Wastewater
    • Phytoremediation of Radioactive Wastes
    • Phytoremediation of Munitions
    • Exploiting the Rhizosphere for Phytoremediation Enhancement
    • Growing Role of Biotechnology in Phytoremediation

Thank you.  Reply with your interest in a particular topic to brian.r.shmaefsky@lonestar.edu.  Manuscript guidelines will be sent upon request. I will accept manuscripts through February.
