I am an environmental scientist who does tech transfer and application assessment consulting on biotechnology plants and phytoremediation. I have been asked by Dr. Chittaranjan Kole to serve as an editor for a Springer-Nature series on Advanced Concepts and Strategies in Plant Science. The volume I was asked to edit is on phytoremediation. It was a great experience writing for him in the past and you can see a sample of a related plant sciences book at https://books.google.com/books?isbn=3642048129. There are no fees to submit for publishing; this is a good opportunity to promote your research, publish your work presented at a conference, or put a part of your dissertation work in print. Your work will be peer reviewed. The proposed topics in the phytoremediation book are:
- Basic Principles of Phytoremediation
- History of Phytoremediation
- Phytoremediation using Crop plants
- Phytoremediation using Trees
- Phytoremediation using Native Plants
- Phytoremediation using Aquatic Plants
- Phytoremediation using Algae
- Phytoremediation of Metals
- Phytoremediation of Organic Pollutants
- Phytoremediation of Wastewater
- Phytoremediation of Agricultural Pollutants
- Phytoremediation of Radioactive Wastes
- Phytoremediation of Munitions
- Exploiting the Rhizosphere for Phytoremediation Enhancement
- Growing Role of Biotechnology in Phytoremediation
I am soliciting authors for the following chapters:
- Basic Principles of Phytoremediation
- History of Phytoremediation
- Phytoremediation using Crop plants
- Phytoremediation using Native Plants
- Phytoremediation using Aquatic Plants
- Phytoremediation using Algae
- Phytoremediation of Wastewater
- Phytoremediation of Radioactive Wastes
- Phytoremediation of Munitions
- Exploiting the Rhizosphere for Phytoremediation Enhancement
- Growing Role of Biotechnology in Phytoremediation
Thank you. Reply with your interest in a particular topic to brian.r.shmaefsky@lonestar.edu. Manuscript guidelines will be sent upon request. I will accept manuscripts through February.
